Some final words of advice from Isabelle and Robert:

Keep it professional
Have a clear intention
Keep the tone positive
Don’t make it too personal

Good advice from Isabelle: some platforms are free and some are not. She advises to start with a free model and then perhaps upgrade to a paid one if you want to further down the line.

Really appreciate Isabelle and Robert giving us all time to put it into practice but also means I have no excuses now for not having an ePortfolio 😅 #CDGEportfolios @laicdgroup.bsky.social

Making an ePortfolio can be fun! It’s almost like making a scrapbook - but one that can assist with your professional development 👏

Robert advises to avoid the use of generative AI in ePortfolios. It should be a reflection of you - so allow your own voice to be heard!

What about making your ePortfolio publicly available? Some web platforms can be set to hidden, which means that they can only be found using a link. You might decide to only make your ePortfolio visible for a certain period of time, such as when you are applying for new jobs.

Robert gives some examples of different reflective models. These models can be useful for guiding your reflection.

Reflection is a key component of the e-portfolio. What have you learned? How did you learn it? What will you change going forward? These are all good points to hit on.

A ePortfolio helps with CPD. It is highly important for librarians and offers a clear framework to illustrate and showcase your work. An ePortfolio shows a personal brand.
