This pair of small canvases was created alongside a large abstract work in dialogue with Georgia O’Keeffe’s practice. They carry traces of that encounter while remaining true to my own painterly explorations.

The feeling of attachment I have to the works I create is special.
Nothing makes me prouder than knowing that a piece lives in someone else’s daily environment, yet it feels strange to think that it’s no longer with me; that my access is limited.
It’s as if I let a small part of myself go each time.

I made this drawing series during my first year in Vancouver, while trying to make sense of a new place. It started quietly, with soft tones, and slowly built into something more bold and colorful. I used dry pastel and pencil crayon, slow materials for a slow transformation.

March was a beautiful mix of fun with friends (and yoyo ❤️) and great studio time!
I tried Hong Kong breakfast for the first time; I finally finished this oil painting I have been working on for months; and I explored new materials in my art practice.
