Made in 2019 but I still love it. Was supposed to be a dragonite in drag. Some folks debated on the gender and while intended to be a male that loves wearing skirts, I don't mind if folks like to use my guys represent whatever gender they see fit.

The awful thing is that people have been getting into art for inglorious reasons forever.

I got in by tracing Garfield comics.

AI is the first beginner trap that keeps its users stuck at square one forever.

The death of so many folks personal artistic journeys is the saddest loss of all imo.

Hit the nail on the head.

They see artists getting called geniuses, and they want the genius part without stopping to understand what motivates people to become geniuses in the first place.

They assume everyone who achieves greatness wants to do it for purely aesthetic reasons, like them.

These mother fuckers genuinely think that up till now artists have just been making stuff at random, and they’re the first people to bring the innovation of HAVING IDEAS to the art world.

There’s tons of ways you could use AI to make new and interesting art, but these guys just want to generate bad imitations of stuff that already exists, which is pointless.

These guys will never be Duchamp.

Feel like I should cap this off by clarifying that I hate AI art and I think it’s going to make the world a worse place.

I just don’t like arguing about what is and is not art. I’ve never gotten anywhere by participating in that conversation. It’s like arguing what is and isn’t a fish.

I don’t consider my position authoritarian.

I don’t think I even told you to stop.

It’s just sad to see people get started with a creative outlet, and then halt their progress as an artist by switching to only making AI art.

I’m just encouraging you to keep working on your skills as well.

I actually don’t think something being ai generated means it isn’t art.

I have used ai generative tools, and as someone who can also draw, the two aren’t comparable from a creative perspective.

Being restricted to the results an ai can produce robs you of so much freedom.

I don’t place value on something just cause I’m willing to call it art. It just means I am interested in analyzing it from a critical perspective.

This is just my opinion tho.

I have always been a big fan of expanding the definition of art rather than shrinking it, so I am EXTREMELY biased.

I guess what I’m sayin is that the problem isn’t that ai bros didn’t “pick up a pencil” or whatever, it’s that the art their techniques produce sucks.

It’s boring, vacuous, soulless stuff anybody can make.

This is probably gonna be a super controversial opinion, but I have never been a fan of saying something can’t be art based off how input the “creator” has.

Some of my favorite pieces of art weren’t made by their creators. I love readymade sculptures like ‘fountain’ by Marcel Duchamp.

It’s always baffling to me seeing ai artists get mad when ppl say their stuff isn’t good.

I’ve heard people say TERRIBLE stuff about my art, but I don’t get defensive about it… and I put 12+ hours of my life into everything I draw.

How can you get so upset about something you didn’t make??

Was bummed to see you stopped.

Continuing to develop the skills to make stuff with your own hands will be more fulfilling. Plz don’t give up on your art journey for AI ;-;

It’s not our job to bolt “except for the good ones” to everything we say to make you feel more comfortable.
