You do realize there were republics in Europe before the US was founded?
The US was modeled on the Republic of the Seven Netherlands.

Most people in the US have no idea what communism, socialism, fascism, national socialism means. They use them as insults.
Many people in the US don’t even know what republic and democracy mean.

Meh … the Dutch VoC predates that. It had its own currency and military. It had the authority to govern the areas it occupied/colonized

When the US was founded, it was considered normal that only (wealthy) males could vote. The UK still has a House of Lords and the House of Commons wasn’t founded until 1801.
Women didn’t get voting rights in most of the world until the early/mid twentieth century.

You’re describing an oligarchy, which may or may not be fascist.
Citizens United is an abomination. US politics at every level is bought. The district system and electoral college limit honest representation and limit the ability for new parties. The US has not been a working democracy for decades

As a Dutch person … who cares, everyone has an accent. Ever heard a Twent, Limburger, Groningen or Zeeuw speak? Not to mention Amsterdams or Rotterdams …

That is a valid complaint. One often used I the US to show universal healthcare doesn’t work.
Don’t be fooled. In the US we also wait weeks to see our GP and months for some specialists.

That’s the same Supreme Court that ruled that universities can’t use race as one of the criteria for admission.
You can’t have it both ways. Either race is or it isn’t allowed. This is cherry picking in favor of the current regime.

Get rid of the representative system. Simply use the % of votes to decide if someone is elected.
This also opens the door for new/smaller parties
