Hey folks! I'm live RIGHT NOW with Street Fighter 2: The World Warrior on SNES as part of the Nintendo Power Top 100 Playthrough Challenge

Wait wasn't the Turbo Edition of this game already at #10? Let's get into that!

If we beat it btw we'll move on to #44: Lolo (NES)!

Have you listened to much of his non-Rutles/non-Beatles stuff? They reissued some of it after his death and I've been discovering some new-old stuff myself, Feel No Shame is an amazing one I wasn't even aware of until like 5 years ago
lierxagerate.bsky.social
One of my top-10 favorite movies ever, I like the rutles more than the beatles ha ha. I even used to cover them in a band <3

Hey friends! FF4 stream is happening EXACTLY NOW over at twitch.tv/lierxagerate

Basically we just got Edge-ier and are farming for rare drops before beating up a fire clown, typical Fsaturday!

In the first episode of The Tick (1994), when Arthur is going to bed, Tick says "I'll stay here and monitor the culture!" And then turns on the TV

So any time someone says something about doomscrolling I tend to think "It's not doomscrolling, I'm monitoring the culture!"

I like that way better
The Tick, episode 1 "vs. The Idea Men" right after he says that line about monitoring the culture. He is watching a small TV intently

Also we passed the raids along to @mistershins.bsky.social who is also playing Dragon Quest but on the opposite spectrum ha ha (he's playing the first game but the SFC version!)
lierxagerate.bsky.social
We finished Act 1 and it was a LOT ha ha. Fantastic stream tonight, thank you to @thelewdachris.bsky.social and twitch.tv/Lewina_ for the raids! Thanks to the folks who said hello and chatted, definitely made the night better!

Also this is kind of a "iykyk" but let's hear it for best boy Davé!
Screen shot of Dave from Dragon Quest 11. He's a huge burly male character with a bright pink "bull" mask that some characters wear in this series for some reason lol

Hey folks! I'm live RIGHT NOW with Dragon Quest 11, we're approaching the end of Act 1 which means LOTS of story stuff tonight, provided we can win all the fights any way ha ha

Anyway we're burning the midnight oil on this one so please do stop by and say hi: twitch.tv/lierxagerate
lierxagerate.bsky.social
Thanks to the beautiful folks who stopped by and listened to my scuffed voice today, you're all so dear to me

Also I just got this book in the mail! The singer of Gentle Giant wrote a book about going from teen pop star to weirdo music maestro to the executive who signed Bon Jovi, among others!
Cover of the brand new book "Giant Steps: My Improbable Journey From Stage Lights To Executive Heights" by Derek Shulman (with Jon Wiederhorn). Cover shows the Giant (a smiling face of a giant that served as Gentle Giant's mascot for its entirety) and a purple photo of Derek singing, presumably in the mid-70s when Gentle Giant was at its creative peak. First page of the book Giant Steps with the full title and writing credits, and also a fake-torn piece of paper with Derek Shulman's signature on it. Though I sadly have never met the man I now have at least 3 things that he's signed!

Hey friends! If you happen to need some dreary acoustic guitar and singing for your Friday afternoon I'm live for the next couple of hours at twitch.tv/lierxagerate !

Sources: Leadership nixed it over concerns re: U.S. political climate, backlash to Yasuke

omg did the support desk personnel have to answer questions in Yoda-speak? To think the perfect job existed in 1996

lucasarts, technical support, official website, excerpt (1996) web.archive.org/web/19961223...
yoda is sitting behind a 'desk' or stone tablet or something with a feather quill in his hand, looking wrinkly and wise as always. a dimly lit wall with odd shaped round windows is behind him.

It's one of my favorite things! I've got the DVD set if you ever want to watch it together or just borrow it or whatever ha ha

Yesss amazon and the usps almost lost it but I got Nigel Planer's new book! Looking forward to reading a good book at last ha ha
My hand holding up a copy of "Young Once: A Life Less Heavy" by Nigel Planer. The book is blue and the photo on the front is of Nigel's arguably-most-famous character Neil the Hippy from The Young Ones. The title is in Young Ones font

I'm wondering now about what fate befell whoever made that "dat boi oh shit waddup" frog on a unicycle meme, but not enough to actually look it up, I hope they're doing well
lierxagerate.bsky.social
Man why do people hate this guy so much!

Having grown up favoring "Old" music, most of my favorite bands broke up well before I was born, so I came into this phenomenon a little later in life. Having said, thanks "King of Limbs" by Radiohead, you taught me well
lierxagerate.bsky.social
(just trying to help the legal case, I really did buy the book though)
lierxagerate.bsky.social
I pre-ordered it based on your previous Bit where you refused to acknowledge or advertise it, that is the kind of scampery that encourages fans like myself to seek out and purchase books, because it is an easy bit to understand. We love to see ironic humor used in the subversion of expectations

Things like this always remind me of Chubby Checker, who both blames his massive hit song "The Twist" for ruining his life, but also has spent his entire ruined life trying to bottle that lightning again. The word "Twist" appears 77 times on his Wikipedia page and it is NOT a long article ha ha
