Have you listened to much of his non-Rutles/non-Beatles stuff? They reissued some of it after his death and I've been discovering some new-old stuff myself, Feel No Shame is an amazing one I wasn't even aware of until like 5 years ago

In the first episode of The Tick (1994), when Arthur is going to bed, Tick says "I'll stay here and monitor the culture!" And then turns on the TV

So any time someone says something about doomscrolling I tend to think "It's not doomscrolling, I'm monitoring the culture!"

I like that way better

Also I just got this book in the mail! The singer of Gentle Giant wrote a book about going from teen pop star to weirdo music maestro to the executive who signed Bon Jovi, among others!

First page of the book Giant Steps with the full title and writing credits, and also a fake-torn piece of paper with Derek Shulman's signature on it. Though I sadly have never met the man I now have at least 3 things that he's signed!

Things like this always remind me of Chubby Checker, who both blames his massive hit song "The Twist" for ruining his life, but also has spent his entire ruined life trying to bottle that lightning again. The word "Twist" appears 77 times on his Wikipedia page and it is NOT a long article ha ha
