The separation may have appeared to be caused by the Jewish desire for a distinct community.An alternative is that separation may have been a tactic to remain safe with the ability to continue as a cohesive community. Numerical minorities have a tough time if exogenous marriage is easy.

We should spend our time on actions that make structural change at all levels. Proximate drivers of events: structure of election finance and shifting taxes away from capital and onto labor. At the least let's disincentive bad actions and require prosocial ones.

I haven't read this simple analysis: that the cartoon depicts his attitude toward his constituents. Yes, even those who voted against him and are protesting are his constituents. THAT is the norm in this country.

With a crochet hook, start to rework the working stitches, knits from front to catch float, purls: put float in front and pull thru to back. You can even fix cables or lace patterns using this method. One caution: make sure you use float from correct row.

You can do it. Try this: take two needles, free up the stitches you need to work on, place the other stitches on the two needles, points facing towards the working stitches. Unravel the working stitches, place them on a third needle. (Sizes do not matter). 1/2

The point of unmasking/body armour is to be able to hold them accountable for their actions. The theory is accountability reduces their violence. While we work to get rid of ICE from neighborhoods the courts are extending these accountability techniques.

You can ladder down multiple stitches in a row and as long as you have a good crochet hook and extra needles or pins to hold work while you are making adjustments, you can even fix cables without frigging all the way down.

Being part of the conservative herd requires a lot of conformity that is surprisingly difficult to achieve ..not just in thought but in appearance, life style, how your kids act, etc. It means accepting your place in their hierarchy and asking no questions. Like life in a kit. Being free is harder.

I have been sampling "British food" since the 1970's -- through weddings of boiled beef, triffles, breakfasts of bangers and mash, toad in the hole, beans on toast to the wildly varied "ethnic food" that now is everywhere. Immigration is the best thing that happened to British food.

Thank you. I have been in protests where mob-like behavior was caused by fear starting a stampede. Today, trained monitors help minimize these issues. Let's hope for a peaceful, joyful demonstration on Saturday.
