Any reasonable person would likely be pissed at Edelgard for saying 'so even you cry sometimes'. Cn edelgard doesn't only wonder if 'it's thoughtless', she wonders if 'it's out of line'. And then through my anger, i missed the dialogue that followed, that 'someone said the same thing to her'

3h did a good job of hooking me in emotionally, through Jeralt's loss and *Edelgard's* reaction to it. Byleth's crying was emphasised as her first time and her first true brush with grief (in regards with a life lost, in contrast to her merc days)
