For years, officials in the Czech Republic had pushed a dam project to protect a river south of Prague, and the critically endangered species living in it. But the project stalled.

In the meantime, the beavers of Prague simply built dams themselves, saving the government some 1.2 million euros.
Czech Dam Project Was Stalled by Bureaucracy. Beavers Built Their Own.
The dam project, drafted in 2018 and based on a former military training site south of Prague, had been delayed by land negotiations. Local beavers built several dams, saving the government more than ...

Farming heroes are saving wildlife! 🦋🚜

Across the UK farmers are proving that nature-friendly farming works – helping threatened species thrive while producing food.

But they need government support to make it last.

This image shows a news article titled "Hero farmers helping threatened species thrive in nature-depleted England." The article highlights the RSPB's statement that reversing nature's decline relies heavily on agriculture, with 70% of the UK being farmland. Below the headline is an image of a misty countryside scene with green fields, an old stone barn, scattered trees, and two sheep grazing peacefully in the foreground. The landscape feels calm and timeless, reflecting the harmony between agriculture and nature conservation.
