A color photograph featuring a shallow depth of field shot focused on the top of a stone monument.

A small, weathered cross sits atop an angular, light colored stone base, which appears to have a carving of a small angel or cherub face on its front.

The cross is brightly lit by sunlight. The foreground is blurred out of focus, showing the smooth, rounded top of another large monument.

The background is a solid wall of blurred, dense dark green foliage (likely cypress or pine trees).

The image has a watermark reading "GARDENS OF THE SILENT" in the bottom right corner.

The grave was opened again after Ellen for another interment. May be they could not afford to have the others added to the headstone.

Iconic is a word that is definitely overused but in the case of the Piece Hall in Halifax that is not the case. Built in 1775-9, it is a rare surviving example of a large-scale, purpose-built cloth hall. Historic England has praised its architectural and historical interest

A close up photograph of two prominent, weathered marble gravestones in a cemetery.

The foreground headstone, leaning slightly, is a rounded top marker dedicated to "Mary Rebecca" (died December 31, 1891) and "John" (died September 23, 1902), stating he was "A Colonist of 51 Years."

The stone is etched with a floral/wreath design near the top. Behind it, a taller, Gothic-arched white marble headstone is partially visible.

The stones sit on gravel beds surrounded by a low railing, with a white structure and tall, dark trees in the background, out of focus.
