More rain last night, for which I'm #Grateful. My cat did startle a bit, looking wide-eyed at the window, after a loud thunderclap. I told her in a soothing tone that it startled me too and it was thunder. Not that she'd understand the word, tho' she's a smart kitty, but I talk to her a lot anyway.

Trump prefers history only acceptable to his agenda. He'd reject info on my Wortman ancestors who were in the pro-Union Arkansas Peace Society; my ggg-grandfather was killed because of it & my gg-grandfather (cf. my profile pic) was forced into the CSA but escaped & joined Co M 3rd Ark Cav Union.

That unexpected kip sounds like stress sleep which is actually healing. I've had stress sleep before and was ok with it when I figured out what it actually was. Hope you get to feeling better soon. That you choose your mood stuff sounds like a platitude & those don't address the complexity of life!

And yeah it's because I like to plan early, so I have in mind what to make for Christmas Eve (yeast pancakes), Christmas Day (batter-fried fish, some sort of veg, plus dessert), & New Year's Eve (waffles) & New Year's Day (black-eyed peas, shrimp gumbo, & dessert). It's something to look forward to.

So yeah I have Thanksgiving dinner pretty much planned (fish or open-face LEAN stew meat sandwiches, salad, & some desserts) but it's still kinda cringe to see the Thanksgiving meal ingredients displays in the aisle at the grocery store. It's still five weeks away! #Thankgiving #Early

Trump is *such* a JONES. A Jones is someone who takes care of others and ignores their own just for the praise, shoves care of their own off on others, & refuses to rein in the violent in their own group.

Recommended reading for accurate history: Yellar Rag Boys by Luther E. Warren and Mountain Feds by James J. Johnston. Both books tell about Arkansas Unionists during the Civil War. I know because my gg-grandfather Franklin Wortman was one of them: Co M 3rd Arkansas Cavalry, Union.
