#TheNewColossusChallenge

Next year, is 2026. 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776. The MAGAs will absolutely want to own the narrative and define patriotrism in America.

Our Job: Don't let them.

Don't let them define American Values and American Ideals. . .
I'm not relitigating anything. I'm not advocating any tax policy. I'm giving an example.
* for there to be a centrist approach.
What you replied to was a two part post - did you read the rest of the post?
I think you're missing my actual point. I was merely giving an example what might might be centrist - there has to be a spectrum of options for their to be a centrist approach.

There's no spectrum between fascism and real democracy. That's my point.
But, when one side is throwing people in el salvadoran prisons and lying about them being violent gang members with a criminal record, and the other side is saying, "Stop violating people's Constitutional and human rights", there really is no center in that conversation.
I don't think in most of our politics there is a real centrism these days - there's thing posing as centrism. But, to me centrism is, "Hey, instead of a 10% tax on the rich or a 95% tax on the rich, how about we look at what is needed to balance the budget and set tax rates based on actual math?"...
Ohh, I see it now. Hvac vent.
Is this AI generated? I don't understand why there's a bunch of vertical lines under the bumper.
... demoralize the soldiers/sailors/airmen who are forced to commit them. War crimes may make allies less likely to continue to be allies and to render the full aid they might otherwise render. War crimes invite reprisal war crimes against your own military and civilians.
It should be remembered that it's not just that war crimes are morally repugnant - which they are! - but also, that generally, war crimes make the perpetrators LESS SAFE and EFFECTIVE.

War crimes motivate enemy forces to not surrender. War crimes motivate terrorism. War crimes demoralize...

14-year-olds in DC: They need to be tried as adults!

30-year-olds praising Hitler while trying to make policy: Just a bunch of kids making edgy jokes. Give em a break!
JD Vance dismisses Young Republicans who in a group chat said "I love Hitler" and joked about slavery and rape as "a bunch of kids" who "told stupid jokes" and adds that "most of the stupid things I did when I was a teenager and young adult, they're not on the internet."
Oh, yes, then we are agreeing. Sorry, I was not clear on what you were saying.
No. It's not. If we have Senators and Congress People and Governors who are BEHOLDEN to racist voters, who they won't publicly admit are racist, then they won't be able to make the 'hard' votes that will alienate those voters. This matters.

We need fully honest candidates who are truthful.
This is clearly 1st amendment violation viewpoint discrimination.
Narrator: "The 'consequences' were that GOP voters decided that those poor young people were being bullied by radical democrats, and got elected to offices across the country, launching their careers as rising stars in the Republican Party. 8 years later, one was elected President".
...Not just remain people either actively racist, or passively OK with racism. A democratic majority built on a foundation of racist support will be fragile and unable to do the right thing, with politicians like Platner constantly bowing to the racists to avoid losing their support.
Here's another Red Flag: He says we need to welcome MAGA voters into the Democratic Party with open arms. "They aren't racists". . . maybe they weren't driven to support Trump primarily by racial animus, but they sure the heck were OK with Trump's racism. 🚩🚩

We need people to actually change...
I wish Dem voters in Pennsylvania had listened to black people when they tried to warn them about Fetterman during the Primary.

In the past, Fetterman ran down a black jogger, with a gun in his (Fetterman's) hand. . .

That should have been The Sign that he was not the right candidate.
Democrats clearly have a John Fetterman problem. . . White Dem Voters need to learn to start listening to black people - they tried to warn you about Fetterman during his primary for Senate. You could have voted for someone else. . .
Although there is one important good that comes from giving people money to use at the grocery stores - my friend on SNAP has some dietary restrictions. A government run food distribution program probably wouldn't have gluten-free, dairy-free foods for her that she can get at grocery stores.
That, and also, when they funnel money through SNAP to retail grocery stores, corporations can make massive profits off it. . .the grocery store, the food companies, the wholesalers/distributors.
When you start a trade war, you should really expect some counter-attacks...

"Trade wars are good, and easy to win..." -- Donald Trump

Not so easy now, huh?
I'm sorry - the snark wasn't directed at you personally; I appreciate that you wrote this, and shared it in the comments.
...So, I, for one, don't care about their pathetic whining about "paid shills". Also, the left in America clearly isn't Marxist. It's democratic. It's about returning power to the people instead of the sock puppets of billionaires.
... Focus on the Family, Turning Point USA, and so many, many others

You can make an entire career out of right-wing politics and propaganda very easily. But somehow that's terrible if people on the left do that. . .
