Finally, I saw #TronAres in IMAX with a buddy. Enjoyable, but didn’t hit the highs Legacy did. NIN cooked. ILM cooked. Flynn… abides. Leto… was there. Wished they picked up the thread of Sam and Quorra.

Halloween Horror Nights was great as usual. Not quite as face melting as 2019, but few years are. Got to 6/10 houses on the evening. Could have pushed thru to see more, but finished on a high note. A gargoyle singled me out when they saw my Chicago shirt and finger spelled “Pequods” at me. 👹🍕

A highlight was seeing Nile crocs Sultan and Blondie (she’s xanthic!). They were super close to the fences and being eye to eye was intimidating but so impressive.

The label copy at Gatorland is something else! I love the voice & how the text meets the audience where they’re at & is approachable overall. Only an instance or two where they took things a bit too far.

CROCODILES AND EMUS ARE RELATED?
Numerous well-respected publications such as National Geographic, Scientific American, and Highlights Kids have done articles detailing

the similarities between living birds such as Emus, and dinosaurs.
MODERN EMU
We googled these articles and skimmed through them so now we are experts on this subject.
Recently discovered bird-like dinosaurs, such as the Anz u Wylei, have caused scientists to realize that emus have feet and legs that are very similar to that of theropods, or three-toed dinosaurs. (We googled that too.) That means that by studying the movements of Emus and Ostriches, we can get insight into how certain dinosaurs walked and ran when they were alive.
The fy teams on the Jurassic Park movies used Emus as the model for movements for theropods such as Velociraptors and Tyrantosaurus rex.
In 2008, Arkhat Abz hanoy, a Biologist at Harvard UnVersity, was elbow deep in Alligator eggs. Since Alligators descend from a common ancestor with dinosaurs, they can provide a useful evolutionary comparison to birds.

Crocodiles are the closest iving relatives of birds, sharing a common ancestor that lived around 240 Million years ago. So Crocodiles and Emus really are related!

MISUNDERSTOOD MONSTERS
Only found in the Orinoco river basin in Venez uela and the Meta river basin in Colombia, these crocs are considered to be one of the most critically endangered species of crocodiles in the world. Like most endangered species, encroachment by humans into their habitat plays a critical roll in their declining numbers, however, these crocs were also extensively hunted by humans for their skins, meat, and teeth, all of which were believed to have medicinal benefits.
There is poor documentation about Orinoco Crocodiles in the wild due to their small numbers aid dense habitats. There are many misconceptions about them.
For example, despite their massive size and fierce looks, they rarely pose
threats to humans. Being a crocodile, they are opportumstic hunters who prey on birds, reptiles, and small mammals such as Capybaras. That's why we Keep our Capys on the other
side of the park hidden with the Flamingos. Venezuelar Locals blame the Oritocos for fish shortages, however, Orinocos mainly eat predatory fish, such as peacock bass and the Brazilian tucunaré, meaning they may be helpful to local fishermar after all.

LIKE MOST MOVIE STARS, POPS IS ADORED BY THE LADY GATORS, BUT NEVER CAUSES TROUBLE ON SET.
IN FACT, HE DOESN'T CARE WHAT COLOR M&M'S WE PUT IN HIS DRESSING ROOM. HE TAKES DIRECTION WELL AND EVEN DOES HIS OWN STUNTS.
THE OLDEST ALLIGATOR AT GATORLAND, HE WAS JUST A GRUNT HATCHLING WHEN GATORLAND OPENED IN 1949.

Visited Gatorland over my weekend. Most crocodilian pics i took you’ll see in the coming days at my alt @crocodiles.bsky.social . It is #croctober after all!

But an unsung highlight for me were the emus. Curious, charismatic, and loved the barely audible, yet simultaneously booming vocalizations!

The #AlienEarth finale wasn’t the most satisfying thing, but I enjoyed the season overall very much.

I see posts online of people critical of it, because what they wanted didn’t happen. Well that’s because someone else is telling the story. Maybe they should try a Choose Your Own Adventure book.

Seriously WTF. Not one thing that I wanted to happen happened. I'm sorry to say but that was incredibly disappointing.
They could've salvaged a tiny bit if they had a least let Joe take the eye transplant.
Did they run out of budget? Time? Damn...
