I really appreciate your comments~. It's especially nice seeing familiar icons/names in my notifications. Very "Ah, must be doing something right. They still like my stuff!"

Such a cool design for lyctors~! I'd never imagined them too off from typical humans, so the serpentine qualities are fun. Love it.

I honestly want to have a brief conversation with people about that when I see it, because from interacting with non-artists in my day job (typical office environment) most people just genuinely don't know what the big deal is.

But also that prospect is exhausting. 😐

My pleasure, Becky. Thanks for enjoying it. 💜

Art is so fucking cool.

Minecraft as a medium is wild.

So perhaps if you've thoroughly tried drawing and you're not a fan, you're just not a fan. I think it is perfectly fine to observe and enjoy other people's drawings and not make your own. 💜 And I wish you luck finding something you do enjoy creating, because I believe it's out there.

Drawing, writing, making music, woodworking, crochet, building stuff in Minecraft, dressing dolls, interior decorating, makeup, beadworking, sculpting, dancing, photography, fucking etch-a-sketch - these are all creative and I really don't think one is intrinsically "better" than any other.

I don't think there is anything wrong with you not enjoying drawing. I think the desire to create things is innate to every single person, but I also think it manifests in an abundance of ways (some of which people don't realize ARE creative). That's what makes people so fascinating.

Some pieces are ripe with each type, and I have an amazing time with them start to finish. Some are a joy as I make them, but the result is meh. Some are meh to make, but the result is great/people love it. But drawing never makes me feel WORSE about myself or my day - it doesn't subtract.

(It's a big topic, but hopefully I can answer your question fully.)

Making art genuinely makes me feel very good. The overall enjoyment can be divided into three rough categories: joy from making art, joy from looking at the finished piece, joy from other people looking at the finished piece.

I believe she's self-publishing the one I drew a cover for~. It's a fantasy novel. Quite proud of her.

Opened my Bluesky and was confused by it. "Where is all my gay porn. Why are we on about the Mariners."

Soft guy under my bitchy exterior.

Also you're in that post. I still really like the piece I made for you ages ago and appreciate you letting me draw your character.

You ever see art so good you're like "I'm almost mad about it."

My friend has written two books now and I did a little cover art for one of them.

I do think it’s important.
A comic of a black spikes figure speaking to a white figure with a rectangular head. Black figure: “Everything fucking sucks. And everyone online is like… Make art! Art is, you know, super important! But what if nobody cares about my art? Who is that going to help? Who is that gonna SAVE?” White figure: “You. And a few people like you, maybe.” Black figure: “Yeah. Maybe.”

I love drawing fanart for artists in part because I love receiving fanart, so I'm treating others as I want to be treated. I have hoarded every drawing I've ever received - they really make my day.

And why wouldn't I want to show gratitude to people who made my art what it is?

Just submitted a request to my local library to purchase "The Salmon Cannon and the Levitating Frog", so thank you for sharing!

You too. Every time I see your art is a delight. 💜

Oh these are ALL so good. 💜

I've noticed this as well as the opposite (line becoming thinner after using QuickShape). Whether it gets thicker or thinner seems to depend on the brush. Quite a pain.

Ooooo I fucking love this. Really simple, but clear. And makes me want to know more.

Thank you~! I'm really living for dramatic lighting lately.
