Up and down the country, you say. Which country?

For me, it is the politics of Scotland, of the independence fight, that matters because I genuinely believe we are at a turning point. This impasse must be broken and as a Scottish nation we must have the right to decide on our future - whatever shape that is to be.

From the outset,I’ve seen him as a possible hope for England…and no more. His language has been that of ‘this country/ nation’ and ‘we Brits’…. Language of the Union flag. For me, while I have to recognise the impact on Scotland of UK politics, it is now background noise. I can’t change or affect it.

I am hoping a multi pronged attack is the way to break the impasse. After all,it was international pressure that helped gain the 2014 referendum. If we can just establish the right to choose, we’ve won. International support and a willingness to unite for the greater cause could make that happen.

In an independent Scotland the Greens would be positioned to do much better I feel. They would be likely to benefit immediately while the SNP would have been deprived of one of the main reasons folk have voted for them.English registered parties would need to go and regroup/reform.

And there is the small matter of retailers actually being able to make the sales in sufficient quantities that they stay open for another year. Mind you , in our house the last birthday of the year is early November, so the rule is that anything Xmas related can only begin in the week following😂

“Here Farage is, in Gill’s office, with Voloshyn’s wife Nadia, on the day Gill makes an intervention on behalf of Medvedchuk’s channels, with an employee of one of those channels, whose husband started bribing Gill to make these statements 6 days earlier”

SNP 1&2 or SNP & Greens followed by Independence is the only chance we have. If this projection is anything to go by, where up 💩 creek Tory jumping to reform.

I have been the victim of a major data breach twice: on both occasions, it was the result of breaches of UK Government Department data breaches. Each time I got a letter informing me that my data had been stolen and I really should do something about it. So no surprise here! Now, digital ID…..

For me, I now collect lots of dog poo bags. I have been a dog owner….would never have thought to carefully lift and wrap poo….. then discard, rather than take it home and deal with it. 😡 the plastic carrier thing is brilliant. If only we’d been allowed(😡) to go ahead with bottle return scheme!

On second thoughts, don’t bother. Entertaining as it has been talking to yourself and your tag team member this afternoon, I am off to do other things.

Perhaps you could explain what in my posts is incorrect…. Am I wrong in saying that WM has the decision about what to place in Scotland? Is pollution ( caused by decisions made in WM or otherwise)a devolved matter? Is that in some way a system inconvenient to WM?

An interesting take. Folk were once quite happy to have lead pipes. Now - not so much. Lots of people are very much unhappy at the nuclear presence in Scotland and that view is reflected in our government.
loobyludicrous.bsky.social
Which, according to what I’ve read, is responsible for the earliest nuclear facilities.
loobyludicrous.bsky.social
I am ‘on about’ a SYSTEM which currently allows UK gov. to decide on our energy facilities in Scotland and if they prove to be pollutant- leaking radioactive elements, for instance, perhaps from poorly maintained pipes, then that falls to the devolved parliament to deal with.
loobyludicrous.bsky.social
I believe there was considerable concern expressed back in ‘55, but UK gov wanted it there and funded a campaign of meetings with their ‘experts’ to reassure a location desperate for jobs. And thus it went ahead.
loobyludicrous.bsky.social
Are you talking of my post, which makes no reference to blame, but to a system which allows WM the power to place dangerous, unwanted, polluting items in Scotland whilst removing responsibility for any clean up to Scotland.
loobyludicrous.bsky.social
Let me turn that on its head. Who wanted it? Who placed it there?Who pays for the clean up of dangerous pollutants?

Good system , isn’t it? WM places something unwanted and dangerous in Scotland because the power is reserved to them. Scotland gets to clean up the mess ( if we get told about it), because pollution’s devolved.

Sorry, have I fallen through the Looking Glass? The Orange Order?

He might decide to come up here, but he’ll just ‘do a Boris’ - speak to 10 carefully selected members of the OO, make pronouncements to the press in front of some bridge of choice and then hide in a fridge.

Scottish Labour……does however have autonomy from the UK Labour Party.’
Hmmm. I’m trying hard to think of examples( ie having spoken against WM party policy and then ACTUALLY DONE SOMETHING TO CARRY THAT THROUGH).
