Obsession with blackwork continues. This is from @loosethreadstitch.bsky.social Shoutout to them because I am bad at outlines but the pattern made it easy and I’m pleased with how they’re shaping up.

Blackwork cross stitch work in progress. The end result will be some number of stacked hearts, each in a different color and with a different fill pattern. So far, the top heart is red with a fill that is nearly floral. The second heart is orange and the fill is more “large hollow x” based. The third heart, not at all complete, is yellow. The fill feels a bit like an echo of a plus sign.

Swatchin’ 2: The Sequel

Two pieces of blackwork embroidery on white cloth. One is on evenweave, one is Aida cloth. Both show variations of the same repetitive pattern, which looks like twisted ribbons. The variations range from a single-stranded version of the basic motif, to double- and triple-stranded versions with extra stitches to increase the density and darkness of the motif’s appearance.

Swatchin’.
