I'm reading 'I Capture The Castle' by Dodie Smith, about a young woman's first encounter with love. Though written in 1949, it's still highly readable and often delightfully funny 🫠❤️

I adored her books! People talk a lot about the romps and raunchiness (which were fun) but she was also a great writer, with some heartbreaking scenes. Lovely lady too.

I'd like them to think that I sit down at a perfectly laid-out desk every morning and steadily craft one chapter after another, none of them requiring revision. Instead, my study is a jumble of reference books, discarded drafts, etc etc etc 😀🗑️🤔
