From fifty years of feminist archives… they discovered creativity in grassroots campaigns, and solidarity with survivors spanning decades.

The result? A brand new hand-drawn animation, that shows how animation and education can be used in activism against sexual violence.

"I'm looking for an LGBTQ+ power couple, with 19th century antiques, about 1700 handwritten index cards in sort of Argos catalogue style, and a gallery but it's inside a house?"

Well we have just the thing! The newly catalogued Albert Dawson Collection:
leedsunilibrary.wordpress.com/2025/10/09/c...
Photograph of two men beside each other. One is crouched down, has blonde hair and is wearing a blue shirt. The other man is stood, has brown hair and is wearing a shirt and jumper. There is foliage in the background. A box of index cards next to three index cards on a table. The three index cards each contain a photograph and text. A shelf of books. A box of large photographs on a table alongside loose photographs. These include colour and black and white photographs.

It's all things #glamour, fashion and stardom ✨ for today's @artukdotorg.bsky.social #OnlineArtExchange to celebrate the new Cecil Beaton exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery.

We think Will Dyson's etching captures the same opulence and drama as seen in Beaton's iconic portraits💎
A black and white photograph of a young man with slick back hair, taken from chest up. He rests reclined with his arms stretched behind his head, looking into the distance. A black and white etching of two figures. The old style film camera on the left hand side suggests a movie set, a microphone suspended from the ceiling. The cloaked man on the left holds a skull to his chest, chin raised upwards as he speaks into a microphone. The woman on the right is turned away from him, her head thrown back, holding a scarf to her chin that drapes behind her. She grips a script in other hand. In her background a circular etching surrounds her like a halo, written above her head is the word science.

“The archive is one of the highlights of our collections, and one of the best used for teaching and research. It has international reach – people come from all over the world to access it. Its significance lies both in Harrison’s stature as a poet, and how it documents his life and creativity.”
