Sometimes I try to do a winter art challenge where I draw monsters for winter. Thinking I might try it again this year once November hits.

Trying a slightly different format, this time instead of a list it's a map to travel across over the weeks, hitting whichever prompts you want along the way.

Art of a map that acts as a prompt list for an art challenge. At the top it says "Creatures of the Longest Night, a slow-paced art challenge for winter". The map is done in an old sepia ink style and divided into weeks like a calendar, covering November, December, and January. Each week has one or two prompts listed with dotted lines marking multiple possible routes between prompts. There are 19 prompts total, the list of prompts is as follows:

November: Dusk, Sled, Blue, Weave, Howl, Steam.
December: Chill, Lost, Storm, Shelter, Fog, Lights, Avalanche.
January: Eclipse, Song, Sprout, Drink, Thaw, Dawn.

Any plans to post the sketch so we can see the scale flow? Or was that all painted, not sketched in?

Also out of curiosity, why no photobashing? Was that a requirement, or was it just the way you wanted to tackle these pieces?

Are these purely for personal use, or are you planning to sell images like these? Because they look like they'd be great to use as borders/frames, or make great landing pages for campaigns using VTT stuff like Foundry, or for art techniques like photobashing (quick, cool looking table clutter)

Those look so cool! I especially like the second one! I love environmental images that tell a story with all the little things and details in them. These feel really... tactile? I wanna reach in and play with all the props. I love the spilled coins and the ice daggers are really neat!

Ghost/Fairy Teddiursa & Ursaring regional variant Fakemon. It's said they fell from the sky in the icy north, their long bushy tails burning ragged as they fell.

Their fur is a dark purple, almost black, and is fluffier around the head, neck and ears, similar to a sloth bear Their tails are longer and fluffier, fading to a pale purple at the tip. Their claws, teeth, and tongue are a pale icy blue. Their eyes are bright green, with bright purple smoke or fire trailing off of them. Ursaring doesn't have its ring marking on its chest, instead it has a half moon marking and scars on its fur that resemble stars.

Vulgore hides its face in its cowl of feathers & chuckles to itself.

Some say Ossferatu's feathers are bloodstained. In truth it bathes in red dust.

Art of Paddington Bear as a monster done in a Soulsborne artstyle. He looks similar to the Cleric Beast from Bloodborne, with one arm larger than the other and covered in yellow boils. His coat and hat are tattered. Instead of his suitcase he holds a folded blade similar to Bloodborne's Saw Cleaver in his smaller hand.
