9th Circuit is usually fairly liberal so it was quite unlucky that the three judge panel had two Trump appointees. Judge Thomas has a decent argument that DOJ’s appeal be heard by the entire panel, since the issue is of national importance with huge ramifications.

I don’t think this is legal! To have a checkpoint stopping everyone? I think there would have to be exigency circumstances (like looking for a murderer and reliable info that they might be in that area). Isn’t a judicial warrant needed? Good god.

I felt so good attending a No Kings protest near Minneapolis! So many people, clever signs, 99% of cars honking. Some people brought portable chairs, or made signs to show while driving by. It was like having a big, reassuring hug! Like minded people doing what they could!
