Rest in peace, mum.
Why is grief such a bloody weird thing? Why doesn’t death make any goddamn sense at all?

Right? I get wanting to hear some more diversity, but defaulting to fly over state America is so small minded and bizarre.
Did you catch anything globe trotting fishing ;-D (trying to thinking of a pun but I’ve kaled)
All the money in the world and these bozos still use AI ‘art’ 🤭 it’s a little embarrassing.
🤫 😭 people are so silly. 🤠 I feel terrible for the sensible Americans that are seriously lacking in visibility amongst all of this lunacy.
Seriously. We wonder HOW someone like Trump became president TWICE, and then we get comments disparaging any accent that isn’t ‘murican. Are people ok? Do they not want to double or triple down? The world is not a monolith of “Deep South” American accents. It’s OK to hear British and NNES voices 3
Dare I say verging on “cultural appropriation” (Ren fair style), when there are so many other accents in the world, both from NES and NNES- maybe it’s time to make up a new accent that can be used exclusively in fantasy acting? 2
This. I get not necessarily wanting exclusively British accents (even if Tolkien was famously British and the Shire was literally influenced by preindustrial Britain), but jumping from that to “WE NEED MOAR AMERICAN VOICES” as if they’re somehow in shortage in America feels a little bit gross 1
In all seriousness though- given that Tolkien’s settings were inspired by preindustrial Britain, having American accents would just feel off to me. If anything, at least having fantasy populated by British accents gives a break from everything sounding American.
Or Australian or Irish or whatever.

Big Tech is training AI on thousands of TV/film scripts. I spoke to showrunners, IP and business affairs lawyers — as well as the programmer at The Atlantic who examined this data set — to find out what happens next

This is a good example of why generative AI opt-outs don’t work: this is my music, but I have no way of opting it out of AI training.

I composed this piece, but I didn’t make the recording and I don’t control the website where it’s hosted.

“To turn off, go to Settings > Apps > Photos on iOS and turn off Enhanced Visual Search. On Mac, open Photos and go to Settings > General to do the same. You must do it on each of your Apple devices.”
Apple has opted iOS and MacOS users into an AI photo scanning feature which tries to extract landmarks from your photos called Enhanced Visual Search by default with little notice.
