They aren't as wild as one would think. It's really just about learning how to read the patterns and know what a mistake looks like. Personally I find lace work more difficult and harder to visualize

It's such a great way to add texture and pattern to a piece. I love color work, but cables are my second favorite technique.

It's a double knit shawl but the pattern includes cables. Thankfully it's not much different than regular cables
