I remember Mara saying "kill the cop in your head" and that rewrote how I feel about all art I saw going forward. Regardless of whether I vibe with a piece of art, all art deserves to exist, and folks should be able to make whatever they want

Similar to my post about "liberation means even for that annoying guy you hate" - weird art includes art you personally don't get, don't like, wouldn't spend money on, find unsettling. Games you wouldn't play. Books you wouldn't read. Decommercialise your preconceptions of what art deserves to exist

yeah they rely so much on the idea that it's a "performance to be seen" that it feels weird to see modern movie musicals just be like "movie but there's songs". you can tell there's something lacking

imo that's a big reason why i was turned off by musicals for the longest time. movie musicals kinda suck ass while theater performances are a lot more inviting to the genre

so far my thoughts are ; this version has a very korean mmo feel to it visually speaking and i mean that in the best way possible. i dig the maplestory sounding music and bum combat feels really good to play

multiple times i've had to explain to strangers that the person i keep referring to as xan is my girlfriend and not just me speaking about drugs. yes it's her birth name, no it's not short for anything, her mom's just funny like that
