Later in the day, Viktor stops by the blacksmith tent again. He unabashedly watches Jayce work from the sidelines, biting his cheek hard when the man changes out of his tunic to just a tight, leather vest.

During a break, they all meet up at the tavern and enjoy mugs of mead. After a while, Vi and Caitl slip out, leaving the two men alone. Jayce and Viktor debate and bond over science, politics and their love of Dungeons and Dragons. +

Meanwhile Jayce is also quickly smitten with Viktor, an intriguing man with sharp cheekbones and pretty eyes dressed as a mage. Viktor’s costume wraps around his slim body in fabric of dark blue, and he’s replaced his usual cane with a hand-carved staff covered in crystals. +

my friend works in special ed and says while most are great, occasionally the kid will have the most awful parents--overbearing, controlling, rude etc. I can't imagine having kid who already needs more care/attention and being like that to them and their teachers 😔
