The 5th Syrian War Campaign initial setup.
The campaign will start in 200BC with the Seleucid forces led by Antiochus the Great (red counters) attempting to invade Ptolemaic held Coele-Syria (yellow counters).

I don’t think my game is the main influencer. I suspect it’s based on one spin of his moulds?

Cheers Phil, pleased it prompted a few sales for Paul at TD

I don’t think that’s so bad…

Very pleased you enjoyed it. It’s a long old day but comments like this make me think it’s all worthwhile after all!

The colour schemes are pure conjecture. The size of forces is specifically that battle at 1:1. For other battles I’ll assume a varying model to real ship ratio.

Pleased you enjoyed it. I wasn’t much better absolutely thrashed playing the Romans in the afternoon so you did something right!

Yeah… Rob’s dice were on fire! Really nice to catch up Bill. I wasn’t much better when I played Charley in the afternoon was absolutely thrashed!!

Super! We’ve a normal battle and an experimental naval variant. Both much smaller battles than normal but enough to see the basic mechanisms in play.

I’m afraid we’ve gone for quick starter games this time Ken rather than the normal really big battles that you love. A different approach from normal!

Love this! Proper old school. Imperial Fists too! 😍

In a nutshell, yes. Plenty of reading. Identify the key elements you want to focus on. Try to work out the right way to represent them while still making the game fun and playable.

Romans all done ready for the weekend! Hooray!

I did use ‘wrote’ twice and both times autocorrect changed it!!! Grrrr!
markbackhouse29.bsky.social
Well I write the rules so I’m a bit biased! Yes, it’s a good scale for most battles at 1/2400, although I’m playing this at a 1:1 ratio I need to play some of the really epic battles at about 1:4.

Strength and Honour will be here in the Lard Zone at The Other Partizan this weekend rocking two participation games. One naval and one land based. Come and say hello or join in for a quick game.

First town bases done. I'll start on the next one during the week. A bit amateur in places but I'm happy with it

Look perfect for some early Medieval Strength and Honour. I might need to get some!
