The day in March will be shaped around how we can use case studies to better understand our work, develop practice and demonstrate value.

Given my interest in ritual, I'm hoping to join the session on Tuesday morning looking at 'the use of ritual within and as an aid to Operation Stress Management’ by British soldiers

Lovely day helping facilitate a team day for the chaplaincy department at South Warwickshire University Foundation Trust on virtue ethics based at their Stratford-upon-Avon site. Lots of good reflection on what motivates us and the virtues that form our practice (and we should habituate).

Looking forward to a day at Luther King House in #Manchester mapping out the different capabilities and outcome indicators required for CPE, the UK Board of Healthcare #Chaplaincy, and different academic providers chaplaincy courses.

I've really enjoyed each of the conversations we had with each link of the podcast chain. Multifaith (and belief) working is such an important part of chaplaincy in so many settings.

Just internet searched for a reading for moving house (putting a little ceremony together) and got lots of advice for final gas/electric meter readings. May need some different search terms!

I thought of this quote from episode 5 of the #chaplaincychain podcast today particularly as NHS England have written to Trusts asking for information about 'how chaplains are engaged in Trusts' and the 'what range of services are provided'.

A quote by Kristin Aune saying 'If you don't know what the extent of chaplaincy is - the roles that chaplains are playing - then it's had to make an argument for more resource.' The quote is on a purple background with images of mangifying glasses and the Chaplaincy Chain Podcast Logo, which is headphone where the ear pieces look a bit like both C's and links from a chain.

It was exciting to be part of this day and see the energy and enthusiasm in the room for chaplaincy in its many settings and guises. The need to demonstrate value is shared across settings and providers and I look forward to continued conversations about how we can work on this together.

Our first CoNNECT Day (Chaplaincy: opportunity for Networking, Nurturing, Encouragement & Community Together) took place last week. It was great to see practitioners, educators & providers of chaplaincy services come together & explore questions relating to funding, training & demonstrating benefit.

Two of the things that I'm passionate about are good entry routes into healthcare chaplaincy & ongoing high-quality CPD inc, leadership training. It was good to discuss the importance of lifelong learning in this episode of the Chaplaincy Chain Podcast chaplaincychain.co.uk/episode-4-li...
A picture of two people reading books with text that says 'For chaplains to fulfill their calling, they need to be equipped to serve well. In this episode, we explore the need for lifelong learning and the development opportunities available to chaplains.' Also contains the Chaplaincy Chain Podcast Logo

Great to see this episode out in the wild. Hoping we can get episodes out a bit more regularly through 2025. Here's a quote from me about the importance of reflection on practice for chaplaincy.
