New movies out today in Hong Kong: REGRETTING YOU, IT WAS JUST AN ACCIDENT, BLACK SHOWMAN, TATSUKI FUJIMOTO 17-26 PT2
ANOTHER WORLD: an ambitious Hong Kong animated fantasy following a young girl's journey through the underworld. It's a big leap forward for local animation, but stylistically owes too much to JP anime to truly feel like a homegrown production. I share a few thoughts: www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GrQ...

New movies out today in Hong Kong: BLACK PHONE 2, NO OTHER CHOICE, KONTINENTAL ‘25, TATSUKI FUJIMOTO 17-26 (tomorrow)
Congratulations, Eric!
TRON:ARES - Very pretty but also very dumb, Jared Leto and Nine Inch Nails combine for an unnecessary threequel that needs to be seen - if at all - as big and loud as possible. I shared a few thoughts: www.youtube.com/watch?v=6q0x...

I donno about Worst Smell Ever, but waiters with bad breath has gotta be on the menu
TRON: ARES is laughably ridiculous nonsense from start to finish, but occasionally quite enjoyably so. Anyone calling this the worst film of the year has got their wires well and truly crossed. Greta Lee for one certainly gives it her all, while NIN fans are well catered for.
Sadly I don’t really have the luxury of only watching movies featuring people with squeaky clean reputations, but I’m not paying, so that helps.
I watched TRON repeatedly as a kid, but as an adult found it very dull. TRON LEGACY had a great trailer and a fabulous soundtrack, but barely remember the actual movie at all. About to go watch TRON: ARES. Consider me unburdened by expectation.

New movies out today in Hong Kong: TRON: ARES …and that’s it. Kinda pathetic really.
Absolutely, a couple of decent action beats, and someone could definitely have fun with the sadistic antagonist role, but nothing to compete with that central rivalry
Yup, read the book too and liked it quite a bit as a pulpy exotic action thriller. But as a sequel to HEAT it’s a big step down.
Gotta say I’m intrigued to see Dillon’s Brando
