Wanted to add Halloween treats to my online grocery shop but it prompted pet treats 🤷‍♀️
Lavenham - like falling back through time
Red sky at night, shepherds’ delight
Back from a short break in Suffolk (actually a mile or two over the border into Essex). Lovely countryside, quaint villages, and historic houses to explore. Don’t really know why it’s taken me so long to visit
Beautiful autumn colours on this morning’s walk
A good way to start the day
Out and about early to get my flu jab. Clinic the emptiest I’ve seen it so jabbed and home almost before my appointment time
Plants are so fussy! A friend gave me a huge pumpkin - one of four which had grown in the compost heap with no attention at all!
I’m not sure how interested Mabel is
The best place to be today is indoors
Mine came through NHS direct then about three weeks later I got another offer direct from the gp. It’s weird 🤷‍♀️
I wish I’d gone sooner, instead of last minute. Then I could have revisited. Picked ah excellent time though - almost the last entry and no hoards to block the view
I saw RHS Bridgewater in Manchester is closing tomorrow, and I expect a flurry of National Trust places will too. I suppose my flu jab will still be taking place though ☹️
With a short walk in the garden afterwards
Eventually got round to visiting the ‘Glorious Nothings’ exhibition at Chatsworth yesterday
Found the garden centre putting out the Christmas decorations this afternoon. My Christmas bulbs were less gaudy - Jan Bos hyacinths to flower in the middle of winter - and, to brighten the garden now, chrysanthemums saved from the reduced rack
Very surprised to see the winter jasmine in flower so early
I don’t understand why Michaelmas daisies have dropped out of fashion. I’ve never managed to get the pinker shades to survive long but I have a couple of clumps of purple
It’s been a proper autumnal day today - no sunshine, dull cloud-cover threatening drizzle all day. I’d sooner have frost and sunshine
If you see this, post a concert picture you took
Hope the clouds clear soon x
I’d forgotten quite how dangerous sewing is. It’s been a day of ouchy ouchy ouch as I’ve pricked my fingers with pins so many times while pinning and cutting out the pattern
