By the way, if it’s a defenseless player, it doesn’t matter if he led with the shoulder. If it’s to the head or neck area, which it was, it’s targeting.

Not entirely sure why we’re still arguing this. Was targeting upheld? Yes. Was it, by the current definition, targeting? Yes. If you want to argue about the rule, feel free to bang your head against that particular brick wall elsewhere.

This furthers my ask that the NFL change the rules to allow a defensive player one snap to carry an extendable pointer with them. Knock down a ball, trip a runner, or tag a down player.
