Can’t relate. I accidentally watched a kdrama one day six months ago and then binged about another *counts figures* gazillion of them in quick succession. They take getting used to, but they’re unpredictable, have actual endings, and make you feel forgotten emotions and then go to Korea. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That ‘good enough’ bit at a daily is a miracle on par with compound interest. Your good enough gets pretty damn good pretty damn quickly when you’re doing it every damn day.

Short deadlines in a pressure cooker are one heck of a crucible. I believe radio journalists have it even tougher, but weekly publications are much more chill by comparison - and when they still existed monthly magazines were basically vacation resorts.

The best way I found to manage the starting block was to work at a daily newspaper, where the production process allowed just about enough time to do a good (or good enough) job if you didn’t dither. And if you did procrastinate you’d hear ALL about it before too long, and so would everyone else.
