I have not seen this! I've gotta check it out next time I'm there!
Hi Kali! 😊 Yes, it's a fabulous part of the country, just a little outside Pogradec, which is also on the lake. It's also just an hour drive from Korçë, which is a really great Albanian city! I hope you got to enjoy your time there!
Great article! I'm a churro fanatic. 😃 I prefer them over porras. Agree that San Gines, while beautiful inside, doesn't have the greatest churros. I think the volume they do may have impacted the quality. My favorite churrerías in Spain so far are Churrería Santo Tomé in Toledo and Malú in Zamora.
You got to witness history!
Yes! 😊 Great to see you again, too, Oli! I just started dipping my toes into Bluesky and I was happy to know you're on here! 🙌
It's fabulous. I stayed about an hour south of Genoa by train for two months this year and felt like I barely scratched the surface, I'm renting the same apartment again for another two months next year!
That second pic is gorgeous! Looks freezing though. 😄
That's so funny we were just talking about this! 😄 Hoping to get there this spring! 🤞
Easily one of my favorite cities to live in on Earth. I absolutely adore Plovdiv.
How do I block the whole list?
I'm very into markets so that's good to know!
Went back in 2017 and it was so built up and everyone was speaking English. I couldn't believe it. I haven't made it to Wroclaw yet, though. It's definitely on my list!
Oh, it was a completely different place! So quiet & almost nobody spoke English. I found a hotel with a sign that said "we speak English" & went in to ask how to say "excuse me" & "thank you... every time I tried to repeat what they said, they burst out laughing. 😂
Great article. I love Istria, it's probably my favorite part of Croatia that I've visited so far. Porec, Pula and Rovinj are great, but I especially loved some of the inland villages dotted around Istria that are quiet and off the beaten path. I've been eyeing Rijeka, I haven't spent time there yet.
One of my first solo trips was an overnight train from Prague to Krakow in 1997. Wandering around the Christmas market by myself, eating stew and drinking mulled wine was one of the experiences that hooked me on solo travel. It's been crazy to see how Krakow has changed over the years since then!
My apartment was up the street from Pijaca Markale and it was a sobering reminder to see the "rose" at the entrance when I would come to buy my produce.
Lin is a beautiful Albanian town on Lake Ohrid, the oldest lake in Europe. I loved meandering through its quiet streets and relaxing on the shores of the lake. 🇦🇱
