My theory is that these imposters are from an earlier version of the game that had more NPCs in the streets, and they didn't rebake the imposter layer after reducing and rearranging the NPCs.

That's just a guess though.

This is the second Pokédex I have ever completed. The only one before this was Legends Arceus.

I have always said that completing a Pokédex isn't worth it.

But after ~250 hours, I had fully completed Violet - except the Dex, due to version exclusives.

Well, I just so happened to already own Scarlet, and realized that I could use Violet to max out a Scarlet team, and well...

I never talked to Mimic so I have no idea why it stopped.

If you activate the Spy Scope without talking to Mimic about it first, the game will glitch up, resulting in garbled text, and exits/entrance destinations being temporarily mixed up. The cause appears to be incorrect loading of data due to activating events that aren't expected to be activated yet, however this glitch doesn't always work, as the Spy Scope does have special dialog for this circumstance that it will use. It is unclear what the real trigger is.

It stopped doing it after the cart was back in the GBA for this comparison. Whether that was due to the GBA itself or simply from turning the Analogue Pocket off and back on again, I have no idea.

Apparently it fixed itself? After ten or so times launching and closing the game, it did a surprise shader compilation step and this issue was gone.
