Cool Bathurst stream channel 7, very awesome. I can almost see the pixels that make up the cars if I squint just right. I notice the ads don’t seem to have a problem playing though…

I was originally thinking of importing a AE111 Levin in BZ-R or BZ-G guise but they may be difficult to find in the minty condition I would prefer. The sensible voice says to just get an ND MX-5 and get the mid life crisis properly sorted. 🤦‍♂️

I’m not sure yet on a replacement. I may use the cash to do a full respray and minor cosmetic repairs on my van. The other options further down the line once I sell the van and have room in the carport again would be something in coupe or convertible format, preferably Japanese.

My sister just got rid of her Citroen C4 (dpf and ad blue issues, much smoke, trim falling off) and bought a Hyundai i40 instead. I have to admit I completely forgot these existed. It’s a damn cromulent car- spacious and comfy. Drives better than I thought it would. Heated and cooled seats too!

M16a from a 2007-2014 swift sport should be a pretty direct swap and probably double your hp. Not sure how available this engines are in your part of the world? Of course then you will need the ecu and a 5 speed gearbox/transfer case out of a similar age jimny etc.
