Year after year (pre Trump) the pentagon identified white supremacy as a significant internal threat in the military. So I think it is more common than people want to admit. But for reasons that are not innocuous or to be dismissed.

Accountability will be resisted and characterized as tyranny by bad faith actors.

Returning to anything resembling the democracy we had will require structural reforms to gov and brute force to ram them through.

Building bridges and winning hearts and minds will not cut it.

I mean we are not going to line up across the battlefield in different color uniforms. But there will be escalating sectarian violence and local law enforcement will pick a side. Strange bedfellows will be made. Most of us will just keep our heads down and hope our neighbors don’t kill us.

I hope today’s meeting gave our military leaders a chance to catch up, chat at the water cooler. Oh, and discuss with each other off the record what to do about refusing illegal orders and possibly remanding control of units who are treasonously acting against the American citizenry.

They overruled an injunction from a lower court. They did not rule on the matter. So any jurisdiction can go through the process, get an injunction (even if it is most likely doomed to be struck down).

Politics in this country have shifted so far right that we have a full blown white nationalist administration. If dems keep chasing the center they might as well change party affiliation.
