Violence should NEVER be the response, but it's not out of the realm of possibility that someone without the ability to self-regulate could reach a breaking point. That's why it feels so scary right now. People are breaking.

Freedom of speech means we're free from prosecution for things we say, not that there are no consequences for our words. When hurtful things are said often the consequence is people being hurt. When someone is repeatedly saying hurtful things about you/people you care about, it breaks you down.

A while ago I dropped out of a film project that was turning toxic real fast. A close friend of mine who I'd introduced to the team stayed on, and was put in a position to take on extra duties. She was told would be given a rate bump for the additional work. So, in good faith she did it...

Throwback to the time I played a showgirl opposite Bill Pullman! It was also my first time co-producing a film & I was so proud of all the hard work of the cast and crew. Sadly my bosses made some poor decisions, which lead to the film being buried, never to be seen again.

so that we can all thrive. There is no reason to say yes to projects where people are abused, or are uncredited for their hard work. Yes, be grateful for the work, but the work should also be grateful for you.
