I got very lucky to have a really long running established and well attended in-person trans support group as the 1st one I attended.

It was mixed. Trans femme, trans masc, nb, fluid. A tapestry of trans folk.

We had a "meeting after the meeting:" in a nearby coffee shop where'd we'd just...

This was all very helpful for me in self-acceptance cuz at the end of the day, I could see we're normal run of the mill people, in all our variety, just like cis folk. Which meant being a trans woman was normal, and fine, however I was doing it.

We are not a monolith, and we're all doing it right.

... socialize. So I was able to get to know a wide range of trans folk, and learn there's a fucking wide range of trans folk.

I often see trans women here talk about supposedly universal trans femme things, and very often I'm thinking: I guessed I missed the boat on that one, cuz not me, sister :)
