turns out when you spend over a decade focusing all your writing and storytelling capabilities on comedy it becomes a lot harder to write emotional stuff

makes me pretty confident in my comedic stuff but maaaaaaaan idk how to write drama at ALL

wanna make it clear that the locomotion devices my mermaids wear aren’t all the same, Maris is a mechanic and built her own by hand while Andrina’s biker wheel is purchased

also not all mermaids use these since not all of them partake in interplanetary travel (too much effort)

nerdy 3D talk: for her 3D model, I'm thinking of making her wheel a scrolling UV texture instead of a rotating model, since she'll be low poly like my other characters

this'd hopefully allow me to add squash and stretch to the wheel with just shape keys and without lattices hihi

the technology in my sci-fi universe is very similar to late 90s early 2000s tech. flip phones, boxy computers, CD players, all that Y2K stuff

there aren't any deeper lore implications for this, it's just the aesthetic I like the most hihi
