Space Gits and Sergeants (lost battalion).

#SkirmishGame

Working on a setup to play Space Gits at 10mm scale instead of the usual 28mm scale.

So far it’s working out well… I just need to find some tiny RPG dice for the weapon damage.

The dexterity skill base dice rolling reminds me of the old Bloodbowl game Kerrunch.

#SkirmishGames

Two new skirmish war games just arrived. One a new take on zombie survival and the other a new take on Ork on Ork violence (using a dice stacking mechanics)!
Misspelling and mispronouncing names that they don’t think are American enough… is the norm for conservative media. CBS is just expressing their new politics.
Played a few turns as a learning game…

New kickstarter just arrived…

Quick playing skirmish rules that feel like a mix of Too Fat Lardies and Pulp Alley. Going to test out the system doing a heist mission with Yakuza vs Movie Cops and a few civilians thrown into the mix.

#1 Favorite solo TTRPG

#CyclesOfTheEye

A solo RPG set in the Citizen Sleeper universe that uses custom dice and a custom tarot deck. Playing a sleeper in this universe is extremely impactful. The only downside is that the game was an extremely limited release…
I will wait to hear his monologue. If he’s forced to change his comedy or apologies then I’m not resubscribing. He did nothing wrong and they silenced him… Disney should apologies. Also, can’t wait for South Park’s take on all this.
Day 22 of #SoloSept #soloRPG

Honorable mention solo RPGs:

#HiddenIsleRPG - one of my favorite tarot driven RPG. Amazing Art!

#RogueAgent - excellent solo rules for Delta Green.

#BeowulfRPG - great NPC system! Great art!

#SevenMurdersTillMidnight - unique take in modern mystery genre.

Cancelled within seconds of confirming the news. Zero regrets. Did the same thing with Paramount months ago… Streaming is dead… going back to DVDs that I can own.
What about Nebula? Isn’t it creator owned. It feels like it just needs a few more big names to really take off…
Yeah I bough all my favorite Star Trek series on DVD so I would no longer need to support Paramount +. It’s sad to see companies that create shows that provide so much hope act this way. The show creators deserve support and praise but the corporate overlords are trash.
I just did the same… sad I was looking forward to catching up on doctor who.
Just cancelled Disney+ subscription…

2nd favorite solo RPG

Koriko a Magical Year really surprised me with its use of dice stacking to create tension and its use of cards to represent relationships. I loved how NPC cards go back into the deck so they are guaranteed to return.

Day 16 of #SoloSept

What features make or break a solo RPG for you?

Break- over reliance on random tables… nothing takes me out of a game quicker. Cards don’t have the same issue because they don’t force me to flip thru a book.

Make- focus on character relationships and unraveling mysteries.
I’m an independent because I refuse to have anything to do with the red and blue parties that demand that I hate, look down on, and seek to silence half of America… but at the same time one party is actively robbing us of our rights and unraveling all checks and balances.
Conservatives want to censor hate speech… I know where they should start. Everything that spews from his mouth is motivated by hate and the desire to hurt and divide.
Day 12 of #SoloSept #soloRPG

My 3rd favorite solo TTRPG is Twilight 2000. While not exclusively a solo game I find the way it uses cards/hex maps to dynamically create the story preferable to flipping thru books and rolling on charts. The survivalist vibes also focus the roleplay.

#Twilight2000
#DCsuperheroesUnited

I finally picked up a playmat for DC Superheroes United. I got tired of trying to keep track of that crazy line of cards. I’m mixing Marvel and DC characters because there is so little DC content available (just Batman Hush) at the moment…
Day 8 of #SoloSept #soloRPG
Memorable premade NPC:

Hans Anderson
Boisterous. Drunk. Prone to telling tall tales.

‘I’m an expert at this weird shit. My great, great, great, great, great grandfather was Hans Christian Anderson. Spooky fairies and shit? It’s in my blood.’

Day 7 of #SoloSept #soloRPG

My 4th favorite solo TTRPG is Solo Martial Blues. It focuses on the heart and struggle of achieving greatness in martial arts. It ask the question… how much suffering and sacrifice can you endure for your dream?

#SoloMartialBlues
I’ve had purchases from Etsy, Ebay, and BGG cancelled and refunded in the last week because there are so few carriers willing to ship to the US.

This should wake Americans up to what is going on but most Americans only shop at Walmart or Amazon so they are oblivious.
Day 6 of #SoloSept #soloRPG

For a beginner I recommend Koriko - a magical year. It focuses on relationships and never feels like a bunch of random events you need to contextualize… also the dice stacking is a brilliant way to create tension without adding complex rules or systems to track tension.
