Deep Dream in the White Cube (2016).

My little son is using AI. How? While I was cooking dinner, I couldn't really help him, so he used ChatGPT to find the Latin translations as description for characters he is drawing. (I'll probably post his works later, he's sleeping now and it's his IP, I have to ask).

Sure, photography and synthography are different things, we've seen it in RIVALS exhibition in Berlin. Different, but equally valued. It's another artistic approach. But people who think it's just "typing words" have absolutely no idea what they're talking about.

I see among the comment voices about "stealing art", "ecologically harmful", "just typing texts". Usual boring clichés and stereotypes.

Digital incompetence, mixed with xenophobian anthropocentrism. Becoming a mobbing. The usual story. Pars pro toto. Hypocrisy.

Reminding on somebody asking to "normalise bullying AI artists".

Reminding on Académie des Beaux-Arts rejecting impressionists in XIX for their unconventional style. Just photo galleries had exhibited impressionists back to the days, besides of their Salon des Refusés.

Drama over in Canada, Graination. Photo Lab for film developing cancelled an exhibition after pressure from the "community" because the artists was using AI.

And some were initially like "oh no, they bully out traditional artists", "political?" but then: "ah, just AI, then OK"

I think, every sign of resistance, protest, opposition is important right now. Silence will be seen as affirmation of dystopia.

The only great thing about Dystopia: it triggers subversive art of satire, protests become focused and postmodernist innthe same time. Best art was written during authoritarian times.

Resistance is cool again (after cheesy attempt to its gentrification by MAGA clowns).
