I adore this movie for the way it not only opens up the world of classical music into modern cinema, but the way it deals with the primal nature of jealousy and how it can consume you so much that it feels like this darker force in defiance of what you once loved so much.

There's something so intricate and powerful about the way that we humans can manipulate sound to create music that one sometimes can't but believe we are just touching the outer layer of something possibly divine. And yet understanding the magic of it can lead you to madness.
