The devil is in the detail.

The vast majority are EU citizens with post-Brexit Settled Status. Not people from “far-flung place”.

If you’ve got ILR, it’s because you’ve spent at least 5yrs in UK without any entitlement to benefits and/or free healthcare.

I remind myself on a daily basis that the capacity for relentless cruelty and mockery demonstrated towards me by my family members is evidence that they feel extremely comfortable and close to me, and that I’m maybe actually doing the Dad and husband stuff alright.

But I’m not falling for that trap!

Just need to keep her away from Dreams and John Lewis. She’s already put a (thankfully refundable) deposit on a Tempur mattress. I’d rather die than have another minor foam mattress.

Mrs G is away in London, being interviewed for BBC Radio 4

It went well. She’s happy. She’s also staying in a very posh hotel that has a Hypnos mattress, so that’s another few grand we now need to spend when we move house. 🤦‍♂️

Survived injuries in bombing in Homs, Syria

Arrived in UK as a refugee. Wanted to be a doctor after seeing so much suffering in his home country.
