A game programmer for 20+ years, but my day job is fiber network design. Feel free to talk to me about anything. I am into game development, music, reading and politics. My current games are Factorio (Pyanodon's mod), Far Cry 4 & GemCraft Frostborn Wrath

Mamdani still has a lot of work ahead of him.
He used his supporters to get into office. I hope he will lean on his supporters to get things done while in office. His plans will never happen if he does it alone.
Can we ask (or demand) the agriculture department to ignore Trump's orders?
If Trump is going to ignore the judges, then let's ignore Trump.
Does anything happen to Trump if he refuses the orders? (Assuming his appeals are rejected)
That's the problem right now. The Supreme Court has literally allowed him to do anything, and nobody can force his hand
I recently got Dwarf Fortress (the ascii version) working in Linux. But I was immediately discouraged to play, knowing that my game will forever be limited by the edges of the map.
In #gamedev I can go create a game that doesn't have those limits; but creating it brings a whole new set of challenges
(What I should have added earlier) It might work to do the same for the end of your pen
One of our cats used to chew on electrical cords for our small devices. It cost us a lot in replacing them. So we spread hot sauce on all our cords (one of the cheap sauces from Walmart).

She doesn't even try chewing on them anymore.
Ahhh, just run the reset script and wipe the world. Nobody's playing this game anyway! lol
People argued that being convicted shouldn't disqualify you from running for office. But that should have been a deal breaker for voters, especially based on what he did (and never apologized OR faced consequences). Instead people brushed aside his crimes and voted for him anyway.
There IS money for snap - like $5B worth tucked away. But they won't release it. The Republicans specifically voted to not do it, when the Democrats tried.
They want to keep that money for themselves.
Maaan... all these electronic devices that automatically switch daylight savings time on & off for you, without even a peep of notification.
Good thing I keep an old-school clock in my kitchen
Sure, they take cars, but what do they actually do with them?

Can someone be gifted a working car through them? Or even buy one from them (for cheap)?
What exactly is USB passthrough?
People want to claim that, if people had UBI nobody would want to work. But no; we're always going to want things. If we can get the bare basics covered, a lot of lives will be better off. Especially those who simply cannot work anyway.
What specifically do you need to do with your PC, then?
If it's Windows-only app, there's a tool called Wine, that lets you run Windows apps IN Linux.
If it's Microsoft Office, there's comparable programs suites that do the same thing; LibreOffice & OpenOffice for starters
What else, then?
There was NOTHING else he could have done. His power is slipping - and he'll grow even more desperate and erratic as it does (causing even more people to stop supporting him). But his end is coming.
But totalitarianism isn't inevitable. There is a power that neither party or anything in the government can control: The people. And that power is growing.
There were 11 million people at the last No Kings event. And what did Trump do? He posted an AI video of him dumping poop on the protesters. ->
No, I'm not. What I saw before the election was that neither candidate was going to do the right thing for those in Gaza.
Yet I met people on here that decided to vote Trump, on this issue alone. I thought it was nonsense.
You know, saying that implies we have a choice on who ends up in our primaries & general elections.
The truth is there's a large voter group that would vote adamantly against any candidate who refused to help defend Israel. Any smart candidate wouldn't dare alienate them.
How did you vote in 2024?
You could still sell us BETTER food, housing, etc, we'll be all for it. Let people work for better things in their lives. But let them have enough basics to survive.

Thing is, we could have both. The greed of billionaires is infinite. But food? Each person needs 3 meals a day. Once u satisfy that... you don't need more.
Do the same with housing, healthcare, education, rights & a few other things & we can go sit down. We don't need a lot
It's not that hard...

And all the businesses that donated money to get him re-elected
He's driving it like he stole it

Which... he did
Hell, be honest. Not even a WEEK after being elected, he decided that lowering grocery prices would be too hard.

He never planned to follow through on his campaign promises anyway. Just say what people want to hear, then do as you please in office.
We can (and SHOULD) tell the companies we work for to not withhold federal tax dollars on our checks.
Don't companies pay the withholdings once a quarter? It may take a bit before the feds notice, but still work.
We can decide next year if we'll pay the fed taxes or not.
have a general strike that lasts much longer
