My trilogy has 3 POV's of people age 23, 27 and 33. Most characters are over 100 and one is 11 000. Yes, vampires. Just because there are two teenage not even secondary but minor characters some think it is YA. Make it make sense.

Just bc a book contains a protagonist between 10 and 30, especially a female protagnoist, doesn't mean it's YA. Just bc the book is written by a woman (or someone you incorrectly assume is a woman), doesn't make it YA. Just bc a book is fun, written colloquially, or has romance doesn't make it YA.

Very true. My book describes lives of two men starting with very early childhood and mostly concentrating on their formative years, yet I haven't read, not only written, a more heavy and soul shattering, serious, tragic book. Also I am AFAB.

I think that we should stop that kind of minimalism when we try to get rid of everything we don't use in everyday life. A time can come when "this could some day be of use" will become true and we will weep about the stuff we threw away.

I am proud of my MC Ayan. Nothing in him screams "bad boy", yet he's a metalhead, an alcoholic and lots of times thinks with his dick. Yet he is also respectful, kind, gentle and very responsible. I think I did well by creating a complex character.

I just translated my favorite scene from my favorite book, and I think it went well. I cried. My fairy-vampire man discovered his love interest - human man - isn't immortal and allowed him to kiss his knee so starting the formal courting.

Unless there is something special, I don't like books that follow the very linear hero's journey with all the regular roles. Older books I already like? Yes, but new ones? Nope. That's why I made my prophesized hero off herself. Spoilers, there's afterlife :D

I liked this book. It's not for everyone, very unique, great worldbuilding and cringe spice, but I love the author's daring, unconventional style, so it's worth it. I read the first book too and today bought the second. Love the originality.

I am a weirdo, I like editing the most. To rewrite, to make better, to polish each sentence into a shiny diamond and then scrape it rough again, mixing it all together. I like it when I already have something more than a blank page.

Writing is like medicine, but a temperamental medicine that sometimes makes things worse because it requires you to add marketing, and then it makes you high, and the world disappears, but it helps. Overall it helps.

I am proud of my first published book and my first translation. It's been 9 years since I published it in Latvian and yes, there are things I would have written differently today, but I am still proud. I have grown.

I wish I could participate more, but even though I know US politics impact us all, a lot of times I have no idea what they are talking about. I already have enough of that total madness. Seems like BlueSky is predominantly US politics whoever I follow.
