Think about ways to honor older loved ones this Thanksgiving. Call attention to the fact that you are serving from a dish that has been passed down through the generations. Ask an older loved one to write the prayer. Other ideas?

Think beyond your grandkids! Our younger generation needs older adults who will model faithful aging. This includes investing time and resources in the lives of young people in your community!
A card ministry to homebound church members is wonderful but please don’t think that’s all the church needs to do to encourage & challenge older adults and help them grow as disciples of Christ. I’ve seen many churches check that box and say they’re “doing” older adult ministry.
Share it with your church leadership! Get Sunday school classes, older adult ministry groups and small groups on board. Get the ball rolling!
This morning at church, I spoke with a mom who shared that her middle school and high school daughters couldn’t participate in extra-curricular activities because of the expense. I’ve been thinking about that all afternoon.

Fellow Christians, please don’t label tomorrow’s No King protests as Hate America rallies. Don’t stir up more hate. There are faithful Christians who hold opposite views. Both can love America deeply. If we can’t show how to love our neighbor who thinks differently than us, who will?
