Didn't do a great job on thus one and always wanted to redo it... But lost tge original photo. Alas. It's a fun moment.

Humans having fun in the most natural way possible. I mean... Who can look at this and think anything but, 'that looks so fun.'.
Unfortunately, too many of us. Let's work on thinking different.

I have bronchitis. It's mixed with extreme insomnia.
That isn't a healthy combo.

We can be human together in the most human way possible... Without it being uncomfortable, weird or embarrassing. Seriously. It's really extremely easy.

The world is in such an awful place right now. The US gleefully turning into a totalitarian state, Europe on he verge of cancelling privacy altogether, Russia looking more and more like destroying the entire planet in its death throes... But even despite all that, this is how I achieve peace.

Time to go back to a more relaxed and centered headspace...

From single parents to same-sex households to foster care to... The list goes on.
So spare me your ancient bullshit cherry picked patriarchal crap dear cousin.

And men staying at home and being the primary caregiver is JUST AS EFFECTIVE. As is having the right tertiary care in the vastly more necessary situation of both parents needing to work. This doesn't even touch on the countless other variations of family units..

Harmful to both mother AND children. It's sexist, allows proliferation of abuse, and sends the message that men are both inherently more powerful and to be obeyed. This doesn't mean that a woman staying at home BY CHOICE is inherently wrong, as long as they are fully autonomous in this decision.

A 'mother', his statement HAD to add the extremely sexist and patriarchal idea of a woman 'belonging' in the home. Outside of ANY idea of parental/child relationship health, this is its own horrific and dangerous statement. Research also shows that the woman subservient to the family model is...

And while the data points to parental involvement being key to a child's development, it also shows that that 'parental' can mean basically any person important and vital to a child's life. Be it mother, father, other family, caregivers, etc. So not only is my cousin's insistence that it be...

When pushed, he and his friends and some other make cousins acted all innocent and hurt. 'What's wrong with children being with their moms?' they batted their poor little me eyes with. As if that was what the statement was.
We've had decades upon decades of research at this point...

MLP also brings up something I heard about today. A cousin of mine in good ol' Alberta posted this to Facebook: 'It's good to see so many moms at home with their children where they belong'. He rightly got some angry push back, but doubled down. (I don't have Facebook but heard it from other family)

This is a fuller version of one of the drawings I posted when I first started doing these reposts. It was this drawing that drew the ire of my sister-in-law that demanded I stop drawing naked children with adults, as if it was somehow inherently creepy and wrong... Sorry lady, it's neither.

I'm more an audiobook person these days. If I ever manage to get a job again, I'll look into it. I did read a lot of side blogs on his pre-1930s life, but mostly iffy opinion stuff. Not accredited historians.

Literally me yesterday. Went down a massive rabbit hole when I wanted to know how Germany really fell to the Nazi Party

It's weird. Sometimes as you get better at a skill, you first have to... Get worse... At a skill. Or, more accurately, your improvement process can be a little rough as you learn new things, but implement them poorly at first. This drawing is a reflection of that. Poor proportion, rough lines, etc
misterbionic.bsky.social
Absolutely... But it's actually far easier to manage than the actual world. I can block and ignore and quit social media.

Toddlers are ridiculously difficult to draw properly. Some people just say 'just draw adults, but smaller', but it's way more than that. Proportions are bongo. Variations of those proportions are all over the board. Folds and fatty deposits and big heads... Oh my!
misterbionic.bsky.social
Sometimes I go on tangents. Have stories to tell. Lessons to impart. Social norms to ruminate on and pick apart. Such was woth this drawing (and many others). Can you guess what I was saying?
misterbionic.bsky.social
I used these two drawings in a blog post on my website (in my bio) that talked about how perspective isn't always accurate. How too often it is the people that seem 'respectable' and are 'pillars of community' that turn out to be secretly horrific. The state of dress is not an indicator of intent.

'Nudism isn't political!' So many nudists seem to want to demand, burying their old white heads in the sand. Oh really? Is that why a drawing like this, in some places, could land me a prison sentence? Not because it's actually illeg (it isn't), but because the entire idea is politically charged.

A lovely and natural interaction between father and child. I think many families actually have very little issue with nudity in the family unit like this, but too many more still have massive hangups. It's unfortunate. I have done many drawings of nudist family dynamics.

As that summer came to an end, I started to transition to indoor drawing on a larger pad. This one ended up rushed, and I was never truly happy with it.
