Guess I should pin an introduction post. Hi, I'm Mitch. I married my high-school sweetheart in a suburb of Chicago 35 years ago, raised three adults together (the kind we're proud of), and moved the the Seattle area when Microsoft bought FASA Interactive, the video game company I worked for.

My dog hated going to my studio in an office building but loved going to my daughter’s office in a pottery supply store. Stepping back, I get it.

Wizard of Oz 1939): Executives pushed back against the early script that portrayed the land of Oz as a real place that Dorothy visited. The decision to make Oz a dream world added to the film's fantastical, whimsical feel, and the final scene of Dorothy waking up in her own bed is now iconic.

Back to the Future (1985): The film's original, more expensive finale involved Marty McFly driving the DeLorean into a nuclear test site. Studio pressure to cut the budget led to the creation of the now-legendary clock tower scene, which was a cheaper to produce, more iconic and inventive ending.

This led to the now-beloved story of friendship and jealousy, which made the characters far more empathetic and memorable.

Googled it. Not fact checked.

Toy Story (1995): When the initial version of Woody and Buzz's character dynamic was deemed too "barbed and sarcastic" by a Disney executive, Pixar went back to the drawing board.

I don’t think Mike worked on the ARG stuff. I think he arrived after that.
