Thanks for the advice, friend. I did some investigation on the drive without too much finaggling, and it's the header that's the problem.

Disc is clean, but the header isn't synced with it, and won't move to engage.

Too scary and expensive for me. 😬😅

I've had this for 4 years. It's where I kept all my completed D&D stories, Alien research, and FAS footage.

It failing is like 10 years of my life disappearing in a blink. Yes, I have some backups on cloud services, but a lot is not, just due to financial cost.

This is like my library burning down
