It’s happened to Serena, Megan before she slimmed down, Queen Latifah, & so many others. Tall & thick doesn’t mean less woman, but are often treated so.

I see that. Height differences aren’t inherently weird, but when tall men fixate on small women for being “tiny”/“easy to throw around,” it can sometimes reflect deeper ideas about control, fragility, or infantilization (re: looking like a middle school age kid)

As a tall, curvy Black woman, I dress hyper-feminine mostly because it’s my style, but also because society already tries to masculinize me. If I “dressed down,” I’d be treated as less soft, less woman, less seen. So I claim my femininity before they try to take it. And trust, they’ve tried!
