Median rent in Montana is $1,080/month. +32% since 2001. To afford a 1-bedroom apartment, Montanans need to make $22.99/hour. Montana's minimum wage is $10.55/hour. Montanans are working 87 hours a week to afford a 1-bedroom. It takes 110 hours of work a week to afford a 2-bedroom. It's time for a livable wage.

You shut down the government to raise health care prices for 22 million Americans. Then you went on vacation (your third one in the last two months) to prevent the release of the Epstein files. Rep. Adelita Grijalva is ready and waiting to be sworn in. Are you going to continue disenfranchising Americans or buck your leadership and do the right thing? You could compromise and reopen the government, just like you could release the Epstein files. But you don't do either, and you won't - because you could care less about your constituents. Rep. "We write on behalf of state insurance regulators to request immediate Congressional action to extend enhanced premium tax credits for health insurance... These adverse impacts across the individual market would mean more uninsured individuals, smaller and less stable insurance markets, higher costs for those who remain in the market, and more uncompensated care for health care providers." A letter, including Montana Auditor James Brown, to Congress. Even James Brown knows Republicans shut down the government to keep your insurance payments high.

Trump: getting paid. Zinke: getting paid. Daines: getting paid. Downing: getting paid. Sheehy: getting paid. Montana federal employees are going without a check because Republicans won't compromise. Maybe Republicans should focus on their constituents instead of cashing a check at their expense.

Republicans shut the government down so you don't have healthcare. If they refuse to extend ACA subsidies and reopen the government... 47,000 Montanans will see their health insurance premiums increase by $5,900 a year. A married couple in Helena aged 62 making $75,000 a year will pay an extra $19,764 a year.

So... Republicans shut down the government. Democrats stood unified: Lower costs and protect healthcare for Americans. Daines and Sheehy refused to negotiate, even though they needed 7 Democratic votes. Zinke and Downing weren't even in DC to participate. Without changes, 77,221 Montanans will see their health insurance premiums DOUBLE. 40,000 could lose coverage entirely.

Our delegation has no spine. They’re in charge, Montanans are drowning, and their solution is to shut the government down. #mtpol

We’re less than 24 hours from a government shutdown, the stakes have gotten even higher for working Americans, and our Republican representatives don’t give a damn.
Democrats have been clear and unified from the start: We need to lower costs, ensure access to healthcare, and get folks the help they need. Democrats have been willing from the start to work with Republicans, but Trump instead threw a fit and blew off negotiation meetings.

We are still waiting for America
to be great again under Republican leadership. Democrats know it can be great as we fight for ways to make life more affordable.

Remember, Republicans control the White House, the Senate, and the House of Representatives, and we still can’t afford groceries.
While our Republicans compete for a Tony Award in political theatre, they’re ignoring what’s really at stake if the government shuts down.

They are in charge. We
still can’t afford to live.

Our Republican representatives need
to take responsibility
for their actions.
We need our all-Republican congressional delegation to do the bare minimum: support policies that will make life more affordable.
*The government will shut down on September 30 at midnight, if no deal is reached.

Republicans control every single inch of the federal government. You know quite well that a Senate funding bill needs 60 votes to pass – Republicans only provide 53 of them.

You NEED Democratic votes to pass a funding bill. And yet, your dear leaders are backing out of important negotiations and rescheduling in the 11th hour.

If you want Democratic votes, you must come to the table about healthcare. Lead the negotiations, fund the government, and restore Montanans’ access to healthcare.

"I love the farmers"... really? Tariffs are crushing agricultural trade, with the worst ag trade deficit on record. Farm debt has increased 5% in 12 months. Agricultural experts fear crops are already in recession. Family farmer bankruptcies are the highest they've been in five years.

Tylenol is safe. Tylenol does NOT cause autism. The President's claims that taking Tylenol while pregnant causes autism are SCIENTIFICALLY DISPROVEN. Tyelnol is the only safe pain medication for pregnant women. This isn't public health. This is an attack on women and families. Tylenol, acetaminophen, paracetamol.
