And yeah, I absolutely get that, practice makes perfect. However, this is tied together. Do you learn well in an environment where you in the next moment could get a 'lol are u getting carried? Don't waste our time' ?

Personally, I think it's getting worse.

And yeah, I feel you on that part about statics and PFs. Long experience in gaming has given me a low tolerance for assholes. If the vibe is off, I'm off.

Preparation is of course essential. And you do recognize when someone is actually trying. Though if you are newer to hard content, you might need guidance in how to prep - what sites to look for, for example.

Because gaming shouldn't be limited to dudebros from 15 to 21. In this day and age, everyone plays games. Even my old dad plays Far Cry. And we should welcome this, let everyone have fun!

1. People need to be more helpful. They need to lift others up, instead of going 'git good' and laugh at those who fail fights. I have anxiety for harder content, because of repeated incidents of horrible people being mean when you don't play well enough.

This is a community culture problem.

This is really basic, but sometimes I worry there's a knowledge gap because of an assumption that everyone knows the basics.

With ktisis (and brio soon too, I assume), reducing your cone angle and increasing your falloff angle is an easy way to give your lighting more depth.
