As a musician, being sample based in the 90s and 00s was not about "using samples" it was about the actual act of sampling.

It's a little ironic to me that after 25 years of being in the breakcore/hardcore "industry" I wound up almost completely centered on ambient music.

I think perhaps what I wanted from it all along was melodrama and feeling, a kind of more internalized violence. Ambient has never been more goth.
